2020-2021 Academic Year Graduation Ceremony
Dear Students,
We have received various comments and questions from you regarding the Graduation Ceremony. As a symbol of your years-long efforts finally being paid off, the Graduation Ceremony is very precious and meaningful not only for you but also for your families and us. I would like to emphasize that under the circumstances we are going through, safety and health of our members, students, and their families are held as our major priority during our discussions regarding the graduation ceremony, which is one of the most important days in the education life of our students.
In this respect, alternative solutions have been evaluated for the 2020-2021 Academic Year Graduation Ceremony. As a result, it has been decided that a series of Graduation Ceremony sessions can be held in multiple groups in the open areas during the week of 6-10 September 2021 by taking precautions such as wearing face masks, observing social distancing and hygiene measures. According to this plan, a ceremony will be held for our top-ranking students on the morning of the first day. For the rest of the week, 9 half-day long Graduation Ceremonies will be organized in such a way that each group has an average of 350 students who are entitled to graduate. However, due to the uncertainty caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, which currently continues to affect our daily lives, we will be able to share with you the final decisions and details of the organization on September 1, 2021.
Regardless of the status of the Graduation Ceremony, our new graduates will be able to receive their diplomas at an earlier date upon their request. With the arrangements to be made by the Registrar’s Office in coordination with our academic units, our students who are entitled to graduate will be able to get their diplomas from their departments as of August 4, 2021.
I wish you health and success.
All my best,
Prof. Dr. Mustafa Verşan Kök
