December 14-21, 2020 (until 23.59) |
Students should contact their advisors before proceeding with the course withdrawal procedure. Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, the communication can be carried out via e-mail.
Students can apply for course withdrawal through the Application for Course Withdrawal program on https://student.metu.edu.tr. If a student who made a withdrawal application for a course (even if his advisor approves) wants to give up and apply for withdrawal of another course, within the application dates, the program will cancel the previous application and send an email to the student and his advisor. In this case, the last application has to be approved. Students should follow the approvals of advisors via this program.
Advisors can give their approvals for course withdrawals through the following program: https://sis.metu.edu.tr/. Once a student makes an application, the advisor will be notified via email. If advisors do not want to approve the withdrawal from the course, they must REJECT the application. An E-mail will be sent to the student and the advisor after approval or rejection.
Course instructors and lecturers will not give approval for course withdrawals.
The status of the withdrawn related courses will be seen as (W) in the system after the time is given for advisor approval is over and approval of Registrar's Office. When the approval processes are done, the withdrawal process will be completed in ODTUClass.
Advisors can approve a course withdrawal request after evaluating a student's graduation status. If the graduation status is appropriate for course withdrawal, they can approve the request. If the student's status is not appropriate for course withdrawal, but his/her advisor approves the request, s/he will not able to graduate.
