REGISTRATION PLACE

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS FOR REGISTRATION 

 

Even if the documents listed below are given at the time of application, the documents will be given again with the aim of carrying out registration process regularly. Documents will not be accepted by post because the newly admitted students should be present for registration personally.

 

 

  • Graduate Students Registration Form for New Students (http://oidb.metu.edu.tr/en/forms)
  • Print out of ALES exam result from the internet, original and copy of GRE exam result (except for those who continue the graduate program without taking any break)
  • Original and copy of English Proficiency Result (http://www.dbe.metu.edu.tr/prf) or TOEFL, IELTS, PTE ACADEMIC exam score (original and copied version) (except for those who continue the graduate program without taking any break)
  • Original and copy of diploma or temporary graduation certificate (except METU graduates)
  • Copy of National ID card
  • Copy of colored biometric photo (Photos should be copied in color on A4 sized paper).
  • The certificate of good conduct taken from Public Prosecution Office.
  • Equivalence letter ( obtained from the Higher Education Council (YÖK) for Turkish citizens who studied in a university abroad)

REGISTRATION CANCELLATION

 

Even without a discontinuation to education:

  • ODTU graduates, who applied and accepted for the same graduate program (optional changes etc.) and,
  • Students who have graduate degree and are accepted for a PhD program should make registration cancellation for the previous program.

 

TUITION FEE EXEMPTION, BANK ACCOUNTS

Research Assistants who is newly appointed should either submit a copy of academic ID card and its original to the Registrar’s Office personnel or they should present a document taken from the Directorate of Personnel Department about their designation procedures. One copy of these documents should also be submitted to the ‘Tuition Fee Office ‘(during the registration period it is located at Registrar’s Office /1. Floor) and be registered to the system. Otherwise, the system of registration program will not allow the student to make the registration during the interactive registration. 

 

ALES/GRE
ALES,GRE/ GMAT exams are valid for five years. However, depending on YÖK decision, a new ALES result is not needed for the students withdrew from any graduate program (own will, academic failure or failure to fulfill the graduation requirements) and accepted for the same or another graduate program after discontinuing maximum one semester to their education. (Students who do not meet the required criteria of the related department should submit a new valid exam result.) 

 

ENGLISH PROFICIENCY

According to the regulation, in order to register for a graduate program every student (including native English speaker international students) has to submit an English Proficiency Exam.

 

  • The English Proficiency Exams accepted by the University Senate are valid for 2 years.  Exams results older than 2 years are not valid for graduate applications. Results submitted for "application" are also valid for "registration".  Results submitted for "application" are also valid for "registration", however if the newly applied graduate program's minimum requirement is higher than the student's former graduate program, the student must the requirement of the new program.  
  • Students who have been registered to a graduate program at METU in the last four semesters and who have been readmitted to the same or another graduate program do not have to submit a METU – EPE Score during registration. However, if the new program requires a higher English proficiency score, students have to meet this criterion. 

 

DOCUMENT SUBMISSION AND INTERACTIVE REGISTRATIONS 

 

Student ID Numbers

Student ID numbers for the newly accepted students for the graduate programs are announced on the page “ODTÜ Lisansüstü Programlarına Başvurular/MS-PhD Application”

 

Tuition Fees

When paying tuition, students should state their ID numbers and have their ID numbers printed on the receipt. 

 

Document Submission

Newly accepted students should submit their registration documents to Registrar’s Office personnel.

 

User Code & Password

Students can get their user code and password from webpage https://useraccount.metu.edu.tr/.  Students who started to a graduate program without discontinuation do not need to get another user code and password. They can use the same user code and password. 

 

Academic Advisor

Students should consult with their academic advisors for the courses they want to take.

  

Interactive Registration

Students can make their interactive registration by any computer. Detailed information can be found in the following webpage: https://bidb.metu.edu.tr/?go=register

 

Advisor’s Approval

After completion of interactive registration students should meet their advisors to get their approval. Advisors check the courses selected by the students and give the approval. Advisors’ approval is needed also for add-drop.

 

Re-registration

Each semester students must re-register according to the regulation. Re-registration includes tuition fee payment, course enrolment, and advisors’ approval. Students who fail to register on the designated dates are deemed unregistered and cannot enjoy the rights of registered students.
